The Advanced Wellness Exam is much more in depth than a traditional exam covered by most insurance companies.  It includes cutting-edge technology geared toward detecting and treating metabolic disorders and cardiovascular risk factors.  Prevention is key. It is easier, more productive, and less expensive to prevent a disease state from happening than it is to treat it once it has already occurred.  Based on your assessment results, you will be provided with a customized health plan covering all aspects of preventative care including a nutritional plan, physical activity/workout plan, rehabilitation plan of any ongoing injuries, and referrals for any vaccinations, tests, or specialists.

Advanced Cardiopulmonary Testing

How well are your heart and lungs working? Using top of the line equipment, we will run all the necessary tests for an in-depth analysis of the performance of you heart and lungs.

  • Resting EKG-  This is a screening test for heart arrhythmias, conduction defects, and signs of prior heart attacks.

  • Aerobic Exercise Capacity- Your V02 max will be measured by placing you on a treadmill or stationary bike and measuring your maximum rate of oxygen consumption during incremental exercise. Your max consumption reflects your aerobic physical fitness and determines your endurance capacity during prolonged exercise.

  • Spirometry- Your lungs will be measured based on how much air they can hold and how quickly you can move air in and out of your lungs. It is a great screening test for diseases such as asthma, COPD, and pulmonary fibrosis.

Advanced Metabolic Testing

These tests will help us better understand how well your metabolism is working. You'll be screened for metabolic disorders such as insulin resistance, diabetes, thyroid disorders, obesity, and more.

  • Resting Energy Expenditure (REE)- Your REE is a calculation of the total calories your body burns over a 24-hour period while at rest. You'll breathe in and out of a machine which uses your pulmonary gases to measure your metabolic rate.

  • Body Composition Analysis- DEXA scanning is the most accurate method to measure body composition.  Our DEXA scanner is equipped with the latest software and measures the composition of your body including muscle mass, fat percentage, and other body compositions.  It can even measure your visceral adipose tissue which is a risk factor for metabolic syndrome, diabetes, heart attacks, and stroke.

  • Bone Density- We will measure the bone density in your hip and spine via DEXA scanner to detect metabolic bone disorders such as osteopenia and osteoporosis.
